Individual therapy with young people who exhibit sexually harmful
behaviour
Offered
for those young people who remain in the community or where regular
therapy can be arranged at a custodial/residential establishment.
Duration, content, specific aims and intended outcomes are
established at the outset with the young person and the referring
agency. Reviewed at six weekly intervals where necessary, when a
progress report is submitted to the referrer. Can be offered as a
continuation of the Assessment of Risk if required but
the Assessment of Intervention Needs is usually carried
out as part of this work.

● Defeat anxiety, and
excessive anger
● Boost self esteem
Where
appropriate and necessary, therapy will provide information
regarding sexual health and relationships
Focused work with young people and their Carers/Families
Wherever possible all work with young
people is carried out with the collaboration and support of families
and carers. This additional work would be carried out where
deemed necessary and appropriate and would consist of a block of
sessions (no fewer than six) to address specific issues relating to
the young person’s sexually harmful behaviour and risk
management.
